OnwardKeynoteSpeaker
I noticed at the Breakthrough's open mic that lots of people felt like they needed to "reclaim" the pride of the programmer. A while back there was a Futurist movement for programmers that talked a little about the same thing. (http:/www.sgi.commiscgraficafuture/ ) Maybe one of those people would be interesting. It might also be nice to get a woman to give a keynote. Does that happen all that often?
We don't, and I find this depressing. We have had more success with women running conferences than keynoting them. I am thinking about a particular woman poet (HeatherMcHugh) to keynote OOPSLA next year, though I might get a former (male) poet laureate instead.
But let's try to find women keynoters, both for Onward! and for OOPSLA. -rpg
