SmallTalks
Just an idea for a name of the forum combining one or more of SalonDesRefuses, OOPSLAEssays, SpeakersCorner, IntruigingTechnologies, papers relevant but not for the TechnicalProgram, etc.-- tla
Heh heh heh. S'great.
CHI2005 has LateBreakingresults which can either be SmallTalks or Posters, It then says this:
- Unlike previous CHI conferences, accepted work in EITHER category will be published as 4-page papers in the CHI 2005 Extended Abstracts CD.
- Short Papers have become very popular; as a result, this submission category is VERY competitive. Additionally, other tracks such as Doctoral Consortium, Interactivity, Workshops, Panels, and SIGs might be more appropriate for your submission.
The academic in me wonders, if we get the balance right, perhaps we can double or triple the numbers of refereed research, academic and industry presenters but still keep an OOPSLA presentation being something people care about.
